Adless Lite Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Adless Lite handles information in connection with the versions of Adless Lite distributed for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Safari on macOS. Depending on the platform, Adless Lite may be distributed either as a browser extension for Chromium-based browsers or as a macOS app that contains a Safari Web Extension and associated Safari Content Blockers. Across these versions, Adless Lite is designed to block ads, reduce tracking-related requests, hide selected nuisance elements, and simplify pages while keeping its core operation local to your device.

Effective date: April 4, 2026

Overview

Adless Lite is intended to reduce advertising, tracking-related requests, cookie and annoyance overlays, and other visual clutter while improving page readability. To do that, Adless Lite needs to interact with the sites you open and remember your local preferences.

Adless Lite is designed around local browser and device processing. Its core functionality does not depend on a user account, a remote profile about you, or advertising-related tracking by the developer.

Platforms and scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Adless Lite when distributed for Chrome, Edge, and Safari on macOS.

  • Chrome and Edge: Adless Lite may be distributed as a browser extension that uses browser extension permissions, rule-based filtering, content scripts, and local extension storage.
  • Safari on macOS: Adless Lite may be distributed as a macOS application that contains a Safari Web Extension together with associated Safari Content Blockers and related local app-side components needed to manage the Safari version.

The exact browser dialogs, permission labels, and user-interface wording may differ by platform, but the privacy principles described in this policy are intended to stay materially the same across supported versions unless this policy is updated.

Information processed locally on your device

To apply blocking and cleanup features, Adless Lite may process website addresses, network requests, page structure, and selected page elements locally inside your browser or local Safari/macOS extension environment. This local processing is used to apply declarative request filtering, cosmetic filtering, nuisance cleanup, per-site pause behavior, optional helper logic, and interface actions connected with the current site.

Browsing-related data accessed by Adless Lite is intended to be used only to provide user-facing features such as ad and tracker blocking, cookie and annoyance cleanup, page simplification, optional YouTube cleanup tools, and per-site control. It is not intended to be used for advertising, sale of data, or unrelated profiling by the developer.

Data stored by Adless Lite

Adless Lite stores product data locally using browser extension storage and, where applicable for the Safari/macOS version, local app-side storage used to support the packaged Safari experience. Depending on your configuration and platform, this may include whether protection is enabled, selected UI language, interface preferences, paused sites, enabled filter packs, feature settings, local runtime state, local performance state, and local counters such as blocked request totals.

This locally stored data is used to remember your settings, preserve extension behavior between sessions, and keep the product working consistently on your device. It is not intended to function as a remote account profile.

What Adless Lite does not collect or use for unrelated purposes

Adless Lite does not require you to create an account for normal use. Adless Lite is not designed to sell personal data, build an advertising profile about you, or use your browsing activity for purposes unrelated to the product features you enabled.

As part of its normal core functionality, Adless Lite is not designed to transmit your browsing history, page text, passwords, payment card information, form entries, or private messages to Adless Lite servers.

Permissions and website access

Adless Lite may request broad access to the websites you visit, such as access across HTTP and HTTPS pages or the platform-equivalent website access permission model. This broad website access is used because ad and tracker blocking, cookie and annoyance cleanup, page-element hiding, and per-site pause controls can only work on the pages the user opens.

Depending on the platform and version, Adless Lite may also use browser or system capabilities related to rule-based request filtering, extension storage, locally packaged content resources, content-script execution or equivalent page cleanup mechanisms, and local app-extension communication for the Safari/macOS version. These capabilities are intended to support the stated product features and local coordination of bundled blocker resources.

Platform-specific notes for Chrome, Edge, and Safari

Chrome and Edge. In Chromium-based browsers, Adless Lite may use host permissions, rule-based filtering, content scripts, and local extension storage so that blocking and cleanup features can operate on the sites you open. Any browsing-related data used by the extension is intended to be limited to those user-facing features.

Safari on macOS. In Safari, Adless Lite may be distributed as a macOS app that contains a Safari Web Extension together with associated Safari Content Blockers. The Safari version is intended to rely on packaged, bundled resources shipped with the app version. The app and extension may communicate locally on your device when needed to apply or reload bundled blocker state, reflect enabled filter groups, or keep the Safari-specific experience in sync.

Sharing and third parties

Adless Lite is not designed to sell your personal information or to share browsing data with data brokers or advertisers as part of its core functionality. The product may reference publicly maintained filter-list projects as the source of some bundled rules, but that does not mean your page content or private messages are uploaded to those projects as part of normal operation.

For the Chrome Web Store version, Adless Lite's handling of user data is intended to comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, to the extent those requirements apply to the product version distributed there.

If a future version of Adless Lite adds a third-party service that materially changes how user data is collected, used, or shared, this Privacy Policy should be updated to reflect that change before or when the change is released.

Retention and your control

Locally stored Adless Lite data generally remains on your device until you change your configuration, clear the extension or app data through the relevant browser or platform controls, disable the extension or blockers, or uninstall the product.

You can also pause Adless Lite on selected sites, change which optional filter packs and features are enabled, clear browser extension data where the platform allows it, disable Safari website access or Safari content blockers where applicable, or uninstall Adless Lite at any time.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time as Adless Lite evolves. When material changes are made, the updated version should be reflected on the website, in extension materials, in app materials, or in related public information.

Continued use of Adless Lite after an updated policy is published means you are relying on the most recent version of this Privacy Policy.
